Cure for the Common Life?

I just finished Cure for the Common Life by Max Lucado.  And while I always enjoy reading Max and hearing his message, the book maxlucadoserved more as a reminder to me to keep a positive attitude. I supposed the most important takeaway for me is this – we all have to do things we don’t want to do. In fact, the chapter that I enjoyed the most was you’re never too big to do something small.   But it’s also just as important to fit in things that you love to do – ie: finding your sweet spot as Max would say.  Now here’s the rub.  There’s a third of the book devoted to helping the reader find out what they like to do and I must admit, I’m stumped.  I’ve got some work to do!

Good times … noodle salad!

ul-pittsburg-0032Edgar and the rest of the cardinals (and Rick) made me very proud yesterday by knocking off number 1 Pittsburg and – I suspect – making it closer back into the top 10 college teams.

While we weren’t at the game, we did watch it at BW3 with tons of other Card Fans. What fun!

Weight Watchers

Good news – lost 1 lb!

We discussed keeping an eye on all our feedback as it will keep you moving down the road.  In other words, you do have to pay attention to Non Scale Victories (NSV) and other forms of improvement – not just the scale.

Balance your points – 1) hunger is hazardous, 2) choose foods you love and 3) plan meals and snacks that satisfy you.

Remember!  The more you love what you are doing, the more successful it will be for you!

Goal for next week – lose 3 lbs – let’s rock with it!

Weight Watchers!

There are two simple skills you need to practice in weight loss – 1) choosing what you eat and do and 2) tracking!

At today’s meeting – which was, incidentally, packed – we discussed the seven steps for success.  I need to particularly pay attention the first and fifth ones this week – plan ahead a time and make sure I know how many points I eat before I put the food in my mouth. Second, I need to track – EVERYTHING!

So this week I commit to:

  1. Tracking everything – If I bite it, write it!
  2. Planning what I eat and my activity in advance
  3. Start using Weight Watchers e-tools

Let’s see how this week goes :)

New BF – Peyton

Okay, so new boyfriend Peyton let me down last week with loss to San Diego (just one week after former BF Tony let me down with loss against Eagles). However, I must say that Peyton puts on a great show.  Love this commercial!
