Sarah’s Key

Sarah's Key

It’s very rare that I start and finish a book in one day, but that’s exactly what I did last Sunday with Sarah’s Key.  I read the book based on my mother’s recommendation (her bookclub recently completed the book).  Not a lot of new information here.  This book is a fictional piece of work about the holocost. I did learn about the arrest of families in the Vélodrome d’Hiver in Paris by their own people

Mother was right – eat your breakfast!

This morning’s weight watchers meeting was all about the importance of eating a good breakfast. Here are some key points to remember about starting your day off right:

Breakfast deserves variety
stretch your breakfast with filling foods
power up your breakfast with protein
Favorites make breakfast fun!

Here are some ideas I will try this week:

1. weight watchers oatmeal with a can of pears. drain pears and place in a baking pan. sprinkle oatmeal on top of pears and then pour remaining pear juice on top. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

2. Toad in the hole – fried egg in the center of a piece of toast.

3. Toast with cottage cheese, topped with bing cherries and broil.

Action Step:

What changes am I going to make this week to give my breakfast a shake up?

OK, now I’m really back

Today is Sunday and after a bit of a bad day on Saturday, I am going to refocus my weight loss journey and my life.
